Uses: The bark of the plant is having emetic properties; the thick mucilage strained is prepared by rubbing down the tuber with water and the strain is used as 5 tola 1 doses with 2 table spoon of the flour of Pamicum maliaceum as a cure for dysentery and opium-poisoning. The bark is used externally to get relief from irritation from cow-itch.
