Uses: For leprosy the roots of the plant is used. The decoction of leaves is having purgative and stomachic properties. For ulcers latex is employed. The leaves are prescribed as febrifuge in intermittent fevers.For swollen mammae is it also used. The bark decoction is utilized as emmenagogue. The seeds are having purgative and emetic properties. The bark constitute an alkaloid jatrophine which is similar to quinine.
