Uses: Roots and rhizomes are used as a gastric stimulant and bitter tonic. The chief active principle of the drug being aristolochic acid is used for stimulating phagocytosis in infectious diseases in formulation with antibiotics. Juice of leaves are used for cough, and seeds for inflammations and biliousness.
