Uses: Roots are used in treatment of leucoderma, syphilis, leprosy, and as vesicant, sialogogue, and abortifacient. Used as substitute of cantharides. Root tincture used in treatment of in dyspeptic and other digestive troubles and piles. Plumbagin, which is an orange-yellow pigment, in small doses has stimulant action on central nervous system and muscles, and in the secretion of sweat, urine, and bile.
