Uses: The plant is employed as tonic and diuretic. The plant is having antispasmodic, expectorant, emetic, emmenagogue, and sedative properties. It is used in gout, pain in the joints, cramps, falling sickness, and vertigo. The crushed leaves are applied on wounds as a hemostatic; and the juice of the leaves is prescribed to stop hemorrhages and in dysentery.
