Uses: An oil known as Origanum Oil which is obtained from the plant is having carminative, stomachic, diuretic, diaphoretic, and emmenagogue properties which is used as a stimulant and tonic in diarrhoea and colic, also applied in chronic rheumatism, tooth-ache, and ear-ache. Because of its spasmolytic properties it is prescribed for whooping cough and bronchitis.
